Last year, WiBB instigated the creation of the Wooden Boat Stage at Southampton International Boat Show - and we're delighted to be working again with the Wooden Boatbuilders Trade Association and the Boat Building Academy to bring it back in 2026. 

The Wooden Boat Stage at Southampton International Boat Show will return in 2026 for a 2nd year.  The Stage is a collaboration between Women in Boat Building CIC, Wooden Boatbuilders Trade Association and the Boat Building Academy, and this year it will be an official attraction, supported by British Marine and occupying a larger space with full AV, opposite the show entrance. 

The Stage is an opportunity to bring the Wooden Boat World alive - celebrating the craft and community of wooden boats. Our official stage aims are:·       Celebrate the people, projects, skills, education, material and craft – involved in both traditional and modern construction
·       Demonstrate that wood is an important boatbuilding material for a sustainable future industry
·       Highlight career pathways and quality training opportunities in the UK
·       Demonstrate diversity and the benefits of it for a thriving industry
·       Make owning a wooden boat more accessible to show visitors, and wider digital audiences
·       Showcase some of the people who enjoy owning and using their wooden boats
·       Give a voice to younger people in the industry, less-known projects and people at the start of their journey.
